Ms. Ammoie Buchanan, Esq., began her legal career as an attorney representing insurance companies, where she gained invaluable experience and insights into the industry. She was privileged to attend annual training provided by one of Florida’s largest property insurance companies, deepening her understanding of how to successfully defend and represent policyholders’ rights. During this time, she worked closely with insurance adjusters to analyze denial decisions and became well-versed in the affirmative defenses commonly raised by insurance companies. Her responsibilities included strategizing, determining applicable defenses, negotiating settlements, and preparing release documents on behalf of insurers.

Now representing the insured, Ms. Buchanan is dedicated to helping homeowners navigate their claims and secure the outcomes they deserve. With her firm, SLG, expanding its practice, she is also committed to assisting workers in employment disputes and supporting consumers in their legal matters.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Buchanan worked on behalf of corporate defendants during the discovery phase of litigation. As a Juris Doctor reviewer, she ensured the accuracy and compliance of documents produced to plaintiffs’ counsel or government regulators, both in the U.S. and internationally. This role exposed her to various areas of law, including consumer and employment law, and involved strategy and training meetings with lead corporate counsel. Her responsibilities included detailed analysis of complaints and requests for production, honing her meticulous attention to detail.

Ms. Buchanan’s combined experience defending insurance companies and her expertise in written discovery enable her to provide comprehensive case reviews, accurately identifying strengths and weaknesses on both sides. Her thorough preparation and attention to detail have contributed to numerous successful settlements as a plaintiffs’ attorney.

In addition to her litigation experience, Ms. Buchanan has worked as a Mergers and Acquisition Consultant in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry. In this role, she acted as an intermediary between top insurance carriers and agents, facilitating the movement of books of business. While her earlier career included representing Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, Ms. Buchanan now leverages her corporate experience to advocate for denied policyholders, using her skills to protect and advance their interests.
